DCC appeals to NSCN(K) to reconsider ultimatum

While appreciating the stand taken by AAPSU and different political parties in the state on the issue, the DCC regretted over remarks of the apex students body on fund allocation to DoTC. The meagre amount of Rs.25 crore given to DoTC, which consists of 12 assembly constituencies and comprises 20% of the state’s total population, should not be disputed time and again, the DCC said.

In contrast, some single assembly constituency gets more than 25 crore from different heads, it added.

Meanwhile,  the DCC termed the Ex AAPSU Forum’s demand for relieving the MLAs and Ministers of both the districts from their respective port-folios expressing doubt over their integrity as irresponsible.

Instead, people from every section of the society should stand together to encourage the politically victimized public representatives in this hour of crisis, the DCC added.

What are they doing?

Dear Editor,

What's gonna be the future of Arunachal Pradesh? China is claiming Arunachal as their territory consistently. Now the NSCN (K) is trying to interfere in the affairs of Arunachal Pradesh using the MLA's of Tirap and Changlang as their remote control. And, what if the Chakma-Hajong's demand their share of land in future?

Presently the people of Tirap and Changlang are going through much pain and agony and are insecure. They are in dire need of security and protection. What are our leaders doing? Are they busy in fattening their bank accounts only? Do they really have concerns for the state and welfare of its people? It is to be hoped.

Let’s hope that the NSCN (K) comes out with the softer sides of their hearts and decide not to interfere in the affairs of Arunachal. Let peace prevail.

Yours,

Kemko Longchot

Are not we valuable too?

Dear Editor,

I fully agree with the unknown officer from Tirap who has shared the feelings of government officers posted in these districts. It is very surprising to see all the condemnation statements emanating from various quarters of the society. In spite of such an open threat the government came out with such a weak statement. It was so carefully worded to make sure that the militant group doesnt get annoyed in any way. If such is the case with government spokesperson, one can only understand what will be the condition of officers who are working in dangerous areas without any kind of security. Are our lives not so valuable?

I am very sure that Arunachal is going the Manipur, Nagaland way.

Yours,

Whole generation is watching you

Dear Editor,

The publication dated March 7 regarding ‘Withdraw support from Khandu Govt: NSCN (K)’ is a big shock and can be perceived as the darkest era in the history of Arunachal Politics.

Just to quench their thirst for ‘Power’ few political leaders compromised their citizen to the underground outfit and sold their motherland.

Today, these leaders themselves are on the run but have emboldened these ‘Outlaws’ to such an extent that they dare to challenge the open society by threatening the democratically elected government.

It is now up to the Khandu Government to decide where he wants to take Arunachal to.

But keep this in mind the whole generation is watching you.

Yours,

Micah (on email)

Woes of SSA teachers

Dear Editor,

I would like to focus on the hardship the teachers recruited under the SSA are encountering in carrying out their duties. The effort is made by trouble facing teachers to place before the state govt. their grievances. In this regard the BJP has done a credible job as an opposition party by urging the state govt. to make a provision for Special Compensatory Allowance (SCA) to SSA teachers keeping in view the embarrassing situation the SSA teachers are facing. It needs no explanation that with such meagre salary and serving in rural areas, how tough it is to fulfill even their basic requirements.  Even a regular peon gets a better salary than that of a SSA teacher in the same school.

More worse, the salary doesn’t comes on monthly basis and are always uncertain. How come the teachers perform at their best in such kind of hostile atmosphere? As a result they tend to look for better jobs and opportunities because of the uncertainty of their future in the SSA and these results to their irregularity in the performance of their job. Which on other hand is affecting the education system in the state at a great extend.

The demands placed before the state government by the All Arunachal Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association are only for the sake of the education system in the state and also to meet the increasing unemployment problem in the state. If the education has to be prioritise than this problem needs to be solved at the earliest possible time and if the govt. tends to make unheard their plea then we can expect a similar uprisings of the COSSAPs in the state.

Yours,

Bomli Yomgam

Special status for all

Dear Editor,

Recently I was booked by the "honest" and "sincere" traffic police for riding my bike without displaying my registration number. After paying  an amount of fifty rupees, I was allowed to go scot-free. As i was  going,  a vehicle showing ARUNACHAL in place of registration plates whizzed past me. Later on I came to  know that almost everyone in the Rajbhawan do not display their vehicle registration numbers. I came to know from one of my uniformed friends that it is for security reasons.

But what I don’t understand is why other employees of Raj Bhavan should not display number plates. When the chief minister's vehicles can display number plates, I don’t understand why Governor’s vehicles should not display the registration numbers. It is a clear violation of law.

I kindly request the "honest" traffic police to follow the same method adopted towards me and charge 50 rupees for all vehicles of Rajbhawan everyday to keep their "chaai-paani" flowing!!!

Yours,

Obviously Idiot,
